NEXT MEETING OCTOBER 24,2006
The Magnolia Lion's Club is very active in the Sandy Valley Community. We belong to LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL which is 1.4 million members strong and is the world's largest service organization. We have been united in a single cause: Helping the less fortunate all over the world. We are tackling the tough problems of blindness and diabetes along with sharing our services within our community. It was once stated if something important is taking place in the Valley, the Magnolia Lion's are most likely involved.

We provide glasses and eye exams to those in need through the Melvin Jones Eye Care Foundation.Lion Jim Hunter of the Magnolia Lion's is the Zone 7 Promoter.

We provide a Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner.

We provide a Halloween Party for the Children in the Community.

We have Highway Cleanups from Magnolia to Crossroads along Route 183.

We collect and sort used glasses for Magnolia Lion Dr. Brady Kail's trips to third world nations.

We have provided vision enhancement machines to individuals within our community.

We conduct a fundraiser for "Cross Eyed Missions" which is a local group that travels to third world nations to provide eye screening and glasses to those in need.

We conduct sight screening for the kindergarten students.

We support the Boys State & Girls State programs within our local school system.

We sponsor the local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.

We support many Athletic,Thespian & Academic activities within the Sandy Valley Schools.

We sell local phone books with the 866 exchange as a fundraiser.Books are available at Top Value Hardware in Waynesburg.

We are very active in the yearly Canal Days Festival and assist in stand setup. We also consider this our biggest fundraiser of the year. We sell Ice Cream and have Bingo and we also provide Hay Rides around the Village of Magnolia. The Lion's Drill Team marches in the Canal Days Parade and has won numerous awards performing various marching formations.

We contribute to the parade of checks at the District Convention. Donations are made to the Melvin Jones 13D Eye Care Foundation, the Pilot Dogs program, Site First, International Relations,American Diabetes and Camp Echoing Hills here in Ohio.

We also have two members of our club that help make up the comedy group "The Bugs". They have entertained many Lion's and Senior's over the years.

Yes, we live by our motto "WE SERVE". If this sounds interesting to you contact us. We are always looking for citizens of good moral character who enjoy giving of their time to benefit others.

Leave a note to let us know you read this completely. Lets see how many Magnolia-Sandy Valley Lions are paying attention!!
